Mahindra Scorpio Pik-Up
World first Mahindra pickup is out ! Wheels24.co.za reports,

The Mahindra Scorpio Pik-Up is available in 4×2 and 4×4 single cab and double cab, and claims the largest loadbox in South Africa in the one-ton segment.
It has a 2.5-litre intercooled turbo-diesel engine. “The Scorpio Pik-Up is a product of world-class standards and its global unveiling is symbolic of the value that the Scorpio brand brings to the discerning global customer,” says Dr. Pawan Goenka, president, Mahindra Automotive Sector.
The Scorpio Pik-Up?s side profile is distinguished by sidesteps that are integrated with the body.
It has a 1.725 cu m double-walled loadbox on the single cab, and 1.125 cu m for the double cab.
Roomy interior
Overall length of the vehicle is 5 098 mm, width 1 770 mm and height 1 860 mm, and offers a roomy interior.
There are ample storage spaces, and standard features include power steering, air-conditioning, electric windows, CD-player and remote central locking.
The instrument cluster has a contemporary look with all controls designed with ease of access and operation in mind.
The Scorpio Pik-Up is fitted with an alarm and immobiliser, and offers keyless entry.
All four Mahindra Scorpio Pik-Up models use a 2 498 common rail intercooled turbo-charged diesel engine, designed in collaboration with AVL, Austria. It delivers 74 kW at 3 800 r/min and 245 Nm of torque at 1 800 r/min.
The Mahindra Scorpio single cab 4×4Powered rack and pinion steering is standard on all models, and the steering column is adjustable. Turning circle is 12.8 metres.
There are ventilated brake discs in front and drum brakes at the rear, and the vehicle offers independent torsion bar front suspension with stabiliser. Rear suspension consists of progressive leaf springs and hydraulic shocks.All the models get five-speed manual gearboxes. The Scorpio Pik-Up 2.5 Turbo Diesel 4×4 model has 200 mm ground clearance and a low range transfer case.
