Eco-Friendly Pocket Friendly : Revai
India’s only electric car maker has relaunched its “Reva” model, Revai model in New Delhi. The new Revai buyers will get incentives including a 15 percent subsidy on the base price of the vehicle, a 12.5 percent exemption on value added tax (VAT), and refund of road tax and registration charges from the Delhi government, which will make its on-road price to about 2,99,000 INR. The price reduction was the first (but necessary) move by any government department of India.

Delhi’s environment, forests and wildlife secretary J.K. Dadoo says,
Our government is the first to extend such a subsidy to vehicle owners, We have collected nearly Rs.100 million from the cess imposed on diesel at the rate of 25 paise a litre in the past three months. That money will be used to give incentives to those using environment-friendly products such as Revai. One of the four customers in Delhi to be handed over the keys Wednesday, Sanjay Gupta, a pilot by profession, said he already owns a car but bought Reva because it is environment friendly. “Survival comes before everything else”.
Ford Feista 1.6s Duratec : pimped it up
Ford recently launched the new look fiesta with a 101 PS engine, all-new colors, new aerodynamic styling kit, 15 inch alloys and all new ebony and jasper blue interior environment. And it should, the competition is tightening, even with fuel price hike, the SX4 is selling great and so does Hyundai Verna with its powerful diesel. Now, ford already had one of the best fuel efficient engines under the Fiesta Hood, so all it needed was a bit more styling.

Race track meets red carpet. Bruising egos with The New Ford Fiesta S.
What do you drive when you’ve arrived via the fast lane? What do you drive when you’ve earned the right to define success, instead of just emulating it? Answer: The Ford Fiesta S. A car that’s every bit what it looks like, and more. 101 PS, 0-100 in 11.43 seconds, five star rated for handling and stability… now in the skin of a true blue street rod.
With 15 inch alloy wheels, low profile rubber, aerodynamic spoilers, and a front air dam that will suck in enough to leave everyone on the outside breathless. And then there’s the inside. New ebony and jasper blue interior environment, a honeycomb instrument cluster, leather wrapped steering wheel and optimum aluminum finish gear lever. Punched alloy pedals, brush steel console and the refined aggression that only fine pedigree can bring. After all, when you’ve worked hard for the success you’ve achieved, you might as well enjoy flaunting it!
Yes, its really a cool looking fast car. But it isn’t fastest, I mean if you put some more into it, you could buy a chevy optra magnum which definitely a class higher, much more spacious, 0-100kmph below 10 secs and its a diesel ! I agree the chevy’s nose is not that attractive it used to be, but who cares if its the power, refinement, comfort and fuel efficiency you want. Read more
Hyundai’s Free Fuel Offer
Hyundai Motor corporation in a bid to boost sales amidst fuel crisis has come out with free fuel vouchers. Unfortunately its just on Santro And i10 models. A free fuel voucher worth Rs. 2,700 comes with every Santro and i10 model purchased between June 20 and June 30.
Though personally I don’t think it’s much to boast about, if you bargain a bit, the dealer might give you better price discount on the on-road price of the car.
